Resinex’s jumbo sea-pollution control beacon is now (1995) in place off Arenzano near Genoa.
Eighteen solar panels are enough to provide sufficient electricity to operate navigation warning signals and also sophisticated heavy-duty instruments for monitoring the waters.
This beacon, which is in operation off the Genoese coast, is Resinex’s first smart beacon, the result of extensive experience in laying thousands of beacons all over the world. It stands on the seabed 50 metres below the surface, supported by a 20-ton-N.B. float with an 11 m. focal plane.
